Join me for an immersive two-day pottery workshop where you will learn how to handbuild your own unique slab-built vase and decorate it using the intricate sgraffito technique!

Day 1: Handbuilding
- Learn the basics of slab building using white earthenware clay.
- Shape and construct your vase with expert guidance.

work on paper to design your scgrafito carving for your finished vase.

Try out the scgrafito carving technique on test tiles to prepare for your finished design.

Day 2: Decorating with Sgraffito

- Explore the art of sgraffito, an ancient technique for decorating pottery.
- Carve your personalized design into the clay to create a stunning, one-of-a-kind vase.

finished work can be collected the following week or work can be posted out at a cost of €6.

With over 20 years of experience of teaching ceramics, I am delighted to now be in a position to offer private lessons to Adults and children so it is an exciting new venture and one that has been requested many times over the years.

This promises to be a totally immersive and relaxing experience .

Over the two days, you will learn the ancient handbuilding skills of forming and decorating ceramics. You will be amazed at what you can create from a humble ball of clay and excited to see the process of forming, decorating and glazing your work to create pieces that can be handed down as family heirlooms

I have over 20 years of experience working as a teacher and maker so you can be assured that even the most terrified of beginners will surprise themselves at what they can create from a humble ball of clay. Workshops are taken at participants own level of ability and can be accommodated to meet any additional needs once I am made aware.
